Nairobi is the largest city as well as the capital of Kenya. It is a cosmopolitan city, blessed with the best wildlife in the world, making it a great safari destination. Known as the 'Green City in the Sun', it is also the most populated city in East Africa and the fourth largest in Africa.

The city got its name from a Maasai phrase, 'Enkare Nairobi' meaning "cool waters". Nairobi River flows through the city. Authorities of British East Africa founded it in 1899 as a simple rail depot on the railway connecting Mombasa and Uganda.

After the independence of Kenya in 1963, the city became the capital of the country. Today, Nairobi is a well-known hub for business and many other commercial activities.
